Newsletter Subscription and Data Processing
When you subscribe to the Isabelle Butterfly newsletter, we collect your email address and process it to manage your subscription and send newsletter-related communications.
Double opt-in
We use a double opt-in process. After submitting your email address, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link. Your subscription becomes active only after you click that link. We record the subscription status and relevant dates to document the registration and confirmation process.
Email storage and technical services
Newsletter registration data is stored in Google Sheets and processed using Google Apps Script, services provided by Google. These services are used to manage subscriptions, send confirmation emails and process unsubscribe requests. Depending on the applicable service configuration, Google may process data on our behalf. Please also consult Google's privacy information for details about its data processing practices.
Data we process
Depending on your subscription status, we may process your email address, subscription status, a technical confirmation or unsubscribe token, the registration date, the confirmation date, the unsubscribe date and the source of registration.
Purpose and legal basis
We process your email address to manage your newsletter subscription and send communications you have requested. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Retention
Unconfirmed registration records are retained only as long as necessary to manage the confirmation process and address technical or security requirements. Confirmed subscriber records are retained while the subscription remains active. After an unsubscribe request, the record may be retained for a limited period where necessary to document the request and prevent further unwanted mailings, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe using the unsubscribe link provided for your subscription. Once your request has been processed, your subscription status is changed to unsubscribed and your address will no longer be treated as an active subscriber.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw your consent. You may also lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
